Only persons over the age of 18 will be able to hire from us. Please note childrens bikes must be hired by persons over 18 years of age

 

A deposit, in cheque or cash, and two forms of ID (one photo ID) will be required.

 

Hire is available for full or part day, weekend and full week hire are available, however strict terms apply to overnight storage.

 

 

These rental conditions aim to clarify the risks and responsibilities for you and us when booking and undertaking a cycling hire. Wherever used herein the term “equipment” shall include any equipment rented from Black Point Cycle Hire  (Black Point Associates ltd).


1. ELIGIBILITY Safe cycling is dependent on the cyclist` alertness and his/her good judgment. Please cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat.

Black Point Cycle Hire  (Black Point Associates ltd)reserves the right to refuse renting bicycles to those with insufficient knowledge or ability for their own protection and safety and/or if a client is unsuitable due to age, size, ill health or poor fitness.


2. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE All members of the cycle hire must be competent cyclists and proficient enough to cycle on various roads. They need to recognize that they will be riding cycles which they might not be familiar with and as such they have to exercise additional care and attention.


Black Point Cycle Hire  (Black Point Associates ltd)hire cycles on the understanding that every cyclist can use gears properly, adjust the saddle height and at least one person knows how to fix a puncture.


Participants in our hire program are required:

To wear the safety helmet provided at all times while cycling

To understand road conditions and the risks involved in cycling

To have a working knowledge and follow the High Way Code

To understand the bike and how to use the safety equipment

To not undertake a maneuver which is beyond their level of skill

To place and lock all equipment in a safe place when stopping

To pay close attention to avoid collisions with other cyclist, and other users of the road

To pay close attention to other dangerous situations such as sudden change on the road surface, slippery road etc.

To not ride or use rental equipment in any water (sea, lake, river)

To not change or substitute any parts on the bike

To not ride on trails that is closed or trespass on posted land

Not being under influence of alcohol or drugs during cycling

 

3. Overnight and Bicycle Left Unattended

When left unattended the bicycle must be :-

Secured through the frame to an immovable object using the lock provided.

 

Overnight          A/ the bicycle must be stored out of site in a locked house, garage/outbuilding, flat, room, or shed, where theft can only occur through forced or violent entry.

                        B/ If the bicycle is stored in a Building, communal hall or communal outbuilding, the bicycle must be locked to an immovable object, through the frame using the lock provided.

                        C/ Locked in a vehicle out of site, where theft can only occur by forcible or violent entry.  ase note that currently we only stock adult cycles.
